Aaliyah Haughton became famous in 1994 when she released her debut album Age Ain't nothing but the number. She was only 15 at when the album was released and it went on to become Gold. The group was highly inspired by R. Kelly, and put the singer in the spotlight. In 1996 Jermaine and Timbaland came out with Aaliyah's sophomore album One In A Million. The album contained the single If You Girls Only Knew the top-selling single. After the release of this work Aaliyah gained international attention as an R&B singer. She was also as a character in Romeo Must Die, a romantic action film with Jet-Li. Joel Silver spotted her in an awards show. In 2002, she appeared in the vampire film Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. Then she was introduced to the Matrix in the form of Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also appeared in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. She has received four Grammy nominations between 1999 and 2003. She is from Indian descent and was born in Connecticut. Mann is the abbreviation of her husband's last name Mankad. Aarti Magnumdar, her professional name. She has also used Aarti Magumdar. Although she began her acting career with minor TV and film parts, her acting career started to gain growth in the latter half of 2000s. Other than The Big Bang Theory her most notable work includes Leverage (2012) Suits (2013) as well as Grey's Anatomy (2017). In addition, she was a part of several commercials, including Volvo as well as other major auto brands. She is a resident of Los Angeles where she continues to work as an actor.
